Creamy Chocolate Amaranth Flake Porridge

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of HerbaZest Amaranth Flakes
  • 1/2 banana (ripe and spotty)
  • 2 cups of whole milk (or non-dairy)
  • 1 tablespoon of HerbaZest Cacao Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Sweetener of choice (stevia, honey, maple syrup etc. to taste; optional)
  • Favorite toppings (Greek yogurt, blueberries, hemp seeds, dark chocolate etc.)

Directions

Recharge your morning routine with this chocolate hot cereal with amaranth flakes. It's loaded with energy- and mood-boosting nutrients from amaranth and cacao, including protein, fiber, and antioxidants, among others. Banana-sweetened and creamy, it'll make you feel cozy and nourished from the first bite.

  1. Mash the banana until smooth.(2 minutes)
  2. Add the banana, amaranth flakes, milk, cacao powder, and vanilla extract to a saucepan. Give it a mix and cook it over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes until the porridge is warm and thick. Add more milk if you prefer a less thick porridge. At this step, you can also sweeten your porridge to taste with a sweetener of choice.(4 minutes)
  3. Transfer to a bowl and garnish with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
