About the Author

Dr. Michael G. Simpson is an accomplished researcher in the field of plant systematics. He received his B.S. from the University of Florida; his M.S. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and his PhD from Duke University. Currently, he is a professor in evolutionary biology at San Diego University.
