Abstract

About the Book

The Complete Book of Garlic: A Guide for Gardeners, Growers, and Serious Cooks was desgined with the needs of the "nerdy foodie" in mind. It profiles nearly 150 different kinds of garlic, including their culinary uses, and the best techniques to handle each cultivar. The different therapeutic and aromatic compounds found on garlic are described in a layman-friendly but in-depth manner, as are the tips and advice for growers. Finally, those interested in garlic's myriad benefits but not quite ready to attempt haute cuisine will find systematized advice on the Quick Guides, designed to ease the first attempts at growing and buying garlic, or selecting a cultivar.
